This event served as a magnet for world-leading network operators and industry partners, providing a platform for sharing cutting-edge technology, industry insights, and innovative applications.

 

The gathering was marked by high-level discussions and collaborations that will shape the future of the global cloud and broadband industry. One particularly significant meeting occurred between Chairman of the WBBA Executive Committee, Liu Zhiyong, and WBBA Board Member, Sandy Motley President Fixed Networks Business Group at Nokia. Their in-depth conversation delved into strategies for advancing the global cloud and broadband sector, resolving industry challenges, and fostering industry cooperation.

 

The discussion surrounded the future development plans and strategies of the WBBA. Both Liu Zhiyong and Sandy Motley agreed on the importance of transforming WBBA into a collaborative, shared, and mutually beneficial industrial exchange platform. Their joint vision is to promote industry cooperation while championing the sustainable development of the sector.

 

During the event, Liu Zhiyong engaged in extensive talks with representatives from various network operators. Among them were 3BB, GLOBE, Singtel, VNPT, and other contributors from Thailand, Philippines, Singapore, and Vietnam. Liu Zhiyong passionately introduced the mission and vision of the WBBA, emphasizing the organization's commitment to fostering cooperation among industry stakeholders.

 

Liu Zhiyong extended a heartfelt invitation to all present, encouraging them to join the WBBA and deepen their cooperative efforts. Martin Creaner is one of the leading strategic thinkers in the global communications industry with a successful career as an executive with Motorola and British Telecom, as well as over a decade as President and CEO of the TM Forum.

Martin currently advises the boards of a number of companies in the communications and high tech industries, ranging from up-and-coming digital economy companies, to market leaders.

Martin has been named among the 25 Most Influential People in Telecom Software by Billing World and has twice been named as one of Global Telecoms Business’ Top 100. Martin holds a Master of Business Administration from Cranfield University, Cranfield School of Management; a Master of Science in Telecommunications from the University of East Anglia; and Bachelor’s degrees in Engineering and Physics from Dublin City University and the University College Dublin, respectively.

Martin is also a recognized thought-leader on digital transformation and the trends of the emerging digital economy. His most recent book “Transforming the Telco” explains the opportunities and challenges that digital transformation presents and outlines how the Telco might navigate this difficult process.

Previous books include “Delivering the Digital Economy”, which outlines the dynamics of the digital economy, and “Frameworx Distilled” & “NGOSS Distilled”, which provide a detailed guidebook to the standards that underpin the Telecom software industry.

Martin was appointed unanimously to the role of Director General by WBBA members.
