The World Broadband Association (WBBA) is seeking a proactive and results-oriented Community Manager to lead its member engagement initiatives. This role will focus on driving participation, delivering member value, and implementing impactful strategies that support WBBA's vision of becoming the leading global broadband community.

Sharing Success Stories and Solving Business Challenges: Our members are enthusiastic about sharing their success stories, empowering the WBBA community with new knowledge and technology insights. They presented solutions aimed at solving real business challenges, further underscoring the value of collaboration and shared learning within our community.

From November 11 to 13, WBBA Chairman Li Zhengmao attended the Ministerial Forum of the African Science and Technology Festival and met with Mr. John OMO, Secretary General of the African Telecommunications Union (ATU), Mr. Solly Malatsi, Minister of Communications and Digital Technology of South Africa, and Ms. Angela Wamola, Head of GSMA Sub-Saharan Africa. The parties conducted in-depth exchanges on topics such as investment and construction of broadband infrastructure in Africa and strengthening cooperation between WBBA and African countries.

The WBBA, a Geneva-based global nonprofit organization, plays a pivotal role in fostering cooperation among broadband operators, manufacturers, policymakers, and investors. With 128 members—including China Telecom, Huawei, Swisscom, and Nokia—the WBBA is dedicated to advancing cloud-network innovation, enhancing technical collaboration, and shaping the future of global broadband infrastructure.

Martin Creaner echoed this sentiment, spotlighting the promising revenue growth in the Fixed Broadband (FBB) sector through value-added services. However, he issued a cautionary note: without intentional effort, the digital divide could widen by 2028. “The future isn’t evenly distributed yet,” he warned. The WBBA’s vision is to close this gap by pushing for broadband excellence in developed regions and expanding accessibility in underserved areas.

Liu Zhiyong, who is a prominent member of the World Broadband Association (WBBA), stressed the organization’s commitment to reducing the digital divide and fostering collaboration within the broadband and cloud computing sectors.

The WBBA’s role as a global platform for collaboration and innovation was clearly evident during this meeting. By creating opportunities for Globe Telecom and Comores Cable to work together, the association is promoting the development of strong, resilient broadband networks across regions. This collaboration holds promise for both companies to strengthen their undersea cable initiatives, ultimately enhancing broadband access for millions.

As ZTE continues to develop sustainable, agile solutions for enterprises, its influence within the WBBA will help guide the telco industry towards a greener, more connected future.

The event in Paris was not just a platform for discussion, but a springboard for transformative ideas and collaborative partnerships that will shape the broadband landscape for years to come.

The long-standing and deep-rooted cooperation between Korean operators and China Telecom was a recurring theme throughout the visit. All parties expressed strong appreciation for China Telecom's leadership in establishing the WBBA platform, recognizing its potential as a model for international exchange and cooperation.

Japanese operators also expressed their willingness to engage in further discussions about joining WBBA.

 The two sides shared their respective strategic plans and business innovation results, and jointly discussed the future development trends in the fields of cloud broadband upgrades and AI applications.
